The short list
Pet-friendly is rare in Lagos and non-existent at most chain hotels. Serviced apartments are your realistic option: Bolton White in Ikate, Fraser Suites in Central Business District (VI), and a handful of Airbnb-managed apartments along Chevron Drive accept small dogs with a $50 to $100 cleaning fee. Rooms run $140 to $220 a night. Nobody in Lekki accepts cats without a long argument, and 'small dog' generally means under 10kg.
The rules that catch people out
You need a vet certificate on arrival — not for the hotel, but for the estate gate security who will ask. Vaccination card in English, dated within 12 months. Second: there are no dog parks in Lekki, so you’ll be walking on residential streets in Phase 1, ideally early morning before 8am when the traffic and heat build. Lekki Conservation Centre does not allow pets on the canopy walkway.
Questions, answered
Can I fly with my dog into Lagos?
Yes into Murtala Muhammed, but expect a 2-3 hour customs process even with all paperwork. Book a pet-relocation agent — worth the $200.
Any vets nearby?
St Mark's Veterinary Clinic in Lekki Phase 1 is the go-to, open Monday to Saturday, and does emergency calls until 10pm.
Doing good is the business: every booking through Stay Lekki funds one verified tonne of carbon removal — same room, same price, no markup.
